Prisoner reentry can profoundly affect mental health, often leading to increased stress, isolation, and challenges in reintegrating into society. These difficulties can elevate the risk of mental health issues, substance misuse, and even suicide.
In this episode, we explore the mental health challenges that formerly incarcerated individuals face as they work to rebuild their lives and re-enter society.
The journey after prison is often filled with emotional hurdles — from stigma and isolation to anxiety, depression, and the constant pressure of starting over. We take a closer look at the mental and emotional struggles that ex-cons experience, and speak with the counselors and support systems dedicated to helping them navigate this difficult transition.
Through honest conversations, this episode sheds light on the healing process, the tools being offered, and the importance of compassion and community in creating real, lasting change.
