Mental illnesses are brain disorders that are biologically based medical problems. Untreated, they can cause severe disturbances in thinking, feeling and relating. This results in substantially diminished capacity for dealing with the ordinary demands of life. Mental illness can affect persons of any age and occur in any family. They are not caused by bad parenting and not evidence of weakness of character.

To champion community awareness and education about mental health while providing dedicated support and advocacy for individuals living with mental health challenges and their loved ones.

Advocate at the county, state and national levels for non-discriminatory access to quality healthcare, housing , education and employment for people with mental illness.

We promote community awareness and support for caregivers of those living with mental health challenges. We educate and stress the importance of seeking peer and professional mental health support. We stress the importance of early professional intervention regarding mental health treatment.
The goal of Aaron’s House is to ensure that mental health caregivers in the community and throughout the various states know that they have a safe-haven to discuss their concerns
confidentially and without judgment, to obtain advice from a mental health professional, and to know that Aaron’s House is here for them, often times the journey is better with someone else.
The vision of Aaron’s House is to create a world where mental illness is as accepted and embraced as any other chronic illness, and where those affected by the illness are provided with the necessary tools and support they need in order to survive and thrive.
DRT Behavioral, NAMI Miami-Dade, and Aaron’s House Foundation will each receive a percentage of donated funds to support their vital mental health programs and outreach efforts. Your contribution will help these organizations provide counseling, peer support, education, resources, and safe spaces for individuals and families facing mental health challenges and life transitions. Any amount is appreciated — every dollar helps expand their impact and bring hope to those who need it most.
